UPDATE: i have written a very nice little command/filter for Linux to control this printer - it is called 'escposf' and lets you control:fonts (such as condensed for 40-characters per line, 2X wide, normal, 2X high, and boldfacing)
underlining
reverse characters (white inside a black box)
alignment (right, center, left, etc.)
and so on.. a simple search for 'escposf' should help you find the source code to download, build and install! this is a fun little printer!
Hint: search for 'escposf GNU/Linux' and look for the URL on the raspberrypi.org forum site
you can also use the 'png2escpos' command to print little graphics to this printer!
Note: you if you hold down the Feed button and turn on the printer and hold the Feed button too long (say 5 seconds), the printer will toggle between 'Chinese' and 'English' mode.. simply repeat the process if you accidentally go into Chinese mode (unless of course, you're Chinese)
:-)
NOTE: if you search for 'Zijiang POS58 manual,' you'll find a .pdf documenting most of the printer's internal commands
ORIGINAL REVIEW:
fabulous little thermal printer - purchased for use with a Raspberry Pi 3 running Linux.. thanks to Aleksey N. Vinogradov and his zj-58 CUPS/ppd filter, i was able to download, build, install and then configure this little guy using CUPS.. right now i'm just using it to print shopping lists and automatic weather alerts, but this printer will be a lot of fun to play with and explore its other capabilities..
this printer is inexpensive to purchase, inexpensive to use, and small in size to match the little ARM Linux single-board computer.. the printer comes with a power wall wart, USB cable, small optical media (haven't bothered with it yet as i'm sure it's just for Windoze)..
printer is recognized as /dev/usblp0 on my system.. choose 'unnknown' for printer type under CUPS during the install, then 'Ziajiang' as the driver.. do NOT download and install the driver directly from them - use the zj-58 CUPS filter/ppd.. i named my printer zj58 in CUPS, so after installation, printing is as simple as:
lpr -Pzj58 mytextfile.txt
you can do a printer test by holding down the feed button, then turning the power on, then releasing the feed button after a couple secondsI am trying to run the ESky setup with FMS software and the ESKY controller.
Biggest waste of money EVER!!!! Air cruisers life vest manual. Nothing in there software works properly and there is NO customer service. I use the system however you can't use all 4 screens at once in the daytime for some crazy reason, I tried to get a hold of them and tracked there U.S. Office down and they would do nothing for me. No software fix.
On Windows 7 things have changed considerably but I did find the game controller and did the adjustment. So the controller is seen by the operating system. In the selection window I get the Joystick selected (would be nicer if it used the OS description) and it is seen by the game adjustment window.

But when I run the sim the helicopter will not take off. I tried moving all joysticks to see if it was a mapping issue. It wasn't.
Any suggestions?
